Edgar Allan Poe’s quote from his work, Mesmeric Revelation: “Never to suffer would never to have been blessed” lays fundamental as an inspiration behind this series of works. Embracing the notion that “all things are either good or bad by comparison”, individual pieces from the series would aim to show traits and qualities ranging from bad to good in the form of supermarket products as opposition to modern-day advertising. Marketing truths instead of agendas for sales, ‘consumers’ would be led to question the roles played by intangible qualities present in everyday life and more importantly that these qualities are never absolute.
